Celebrating India’s Engineering capabilities by Progressive United Engineers Association

Kolkata: Commemorating the 162nd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna the country’s legendary technologist Sir Moksagundam Visvesvaraya, National Engineers Day was observed. An event organized by the Progressive United Engineers Association. About 55 years ago today, the central government declared National Engineers Day on September 15 to commemorate the birthday of this legendary technologist who passed away at the age of 102 years. This eminent technician died on 14 April 1962.

In this event on Thursday, the organization paid tribute to the late legendary Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya by garlanding his portrait. Several famous engineers and doctors of the state and Kolkata were felicitated. Among them are Dr. Manoranjan Sardar, footballer Amit Bhadra, Dr. Indranil Bargi, Chief Justice of City Sessions Court Siddharth Kanjilal, technologist and philanthropist Amal Naik, Rajeev Chattraj, Amal Roy, Sanjay Pal, Praveen Biswas, Siddharth Pramanik, Ashish Kumar Sen, Bhaskar Sengupta, Anant Nandi, Subrata Ghosh, etc.

Technologist Siddharth Pramanik performed the opening music at the beginning of the program. State Divisional Minister Manas Bhuiyan was present as the Chief Guest. Manas Bhuiyan said “Engineers are the creators of this age. We give orders. But the achievement of real implementation is to the engineers. Medical devices, bridge construction, dam planning, and vehicle construction are all contributed by engineers. Engineers are the universal karma of this age.”
