Bengal Panchayats Department launches book on cyber security

The West Bengal Panchayats and Rural Development Department on Friday, launched an ebook about cyber security, titled “A Knowledge for Safer Tomorrow’.

Minister for Rural Development and Panchayats Pradip Majumdar and the IT counterpart Babul Supriyo was present on the occasion, stating “Cyber security is a feature that can help users eventually. It is important not to browse for any web-based advertisements.”

Supriyo said, “India has the highest amount of Internet users. If sharp minds are involved in crimes and it becomes more risky. Cybercrime is similar to a virus since it is able to launch each time a new version. Therefore, it is crucial that people are conscious of the cybercrime.”

The welcome address was given by state IT and Electronics secretary Randhir Kumar, IAS. Followed by the inauguration of the magazine’s Cyber Edition for January to June 2022.

The magazine not only has a series of information on cyber security and ways an individual can be protected online but also has pictorial explanations to make it appealing to children. The aim is to create awareness in the rural Bengal of the concept and its usage. Minister Supriyo called the magazine’s topic choice “unique, useful and order of the day.”
